Pregnancy happens when millions of sperm swim up the cervix to meet a mature egg. While most of the sperm die on the way, one can fertilise an egg and cause conception.
Many women get pregnant without penetrative sex through methods like intrauterine insemination and IVF. There are also a few other ways to conceive that don’t involve sex.
1. Ejaculate Close to the Vaginal Opening
Although it’s unlikely to get pregnant from fingering, or even from anal sex, you can still conceive without penetrative sex if semen is introduced near the cervix. During male arousal, a small amount of pre-ejaculate (also known as “pre-cum”) is released before actual ejaculation, and this can contain sperm cells. Semen can reach the egg and fertilize it, resulting in pregnancy. This is known as a splash pregnancy.
It’s also possible to become pregnant if you spit out semen onto your hands, or use a sex toy that contains live sperm. However, this is very unlikely because sperm can only survive outside the body for short periods of time. If you are worried about getting pregnant from these types of activities, consider using birth control or talking to a doctor about options like Plan B.
It’s not possible to get pregnant by swallowing sperm, because sperm needs to be deposited in the vagina and meet an egg to cause pregnancy. If you want to try this, then it is best to suck semen in from the mouth or buttocks, rather than the anus. This will help gravity to pull the semen into the vagina and closer to the cervix, where it is most likely to find an egg. 2. IVF (In Vitro Fertilization)
It might seem strange, but it is possible to get pregnant without sexual intercourse. This is because fertilization can happen whenever semen comes into contact with the uterus, whether or not a man’s penis enters the vagina. Semen can come into contact with the uterus through oral sex, or even during peeing in public or in a hot tub. However, sperm are unlikely to survive for very long outside of the body.
For this reason, it’s important to use a reliable method of birth control, such as the pill or condoms. Also, women should never drink alcohol or take drugs. Moreover, if they want to get pregnant, they should talk to their doctor about using a fertility treatment.
Fertility treatments such as IVF, IUI, and surrogacy are effective for couples who have trouble getting pregnant through sex. In IVF, a woman takes medication that makes several of her eggs mature and ready for fertilization. Then a doctor adds healthy sperm to the egg. The resulting fertilized embryos are then implanted in the uterus.

3. Surrogacy
Surrogacy is an alternative to in vitro fertilization that involves another person carrying a child for a couple or individual who want to have children. With this option, the surrogate doesn’t have any genetic ties to the baby because they use an egg from another woman (or an egg donor) and sperm from a male donor or the intended father.
Gestational surrogates are a popular choice for couples with uterine problems that can’t carry a pregnancy to term or have prevented them from becoming parents. These include uterine abnormalities such as a septate uterus or uterine fibroids and previous surgeries, like a hysterectomy.

It’s also possible for a woman to get pregnant if she or her partner has live sperm on their hands or on a sex toy and then masturbates with the object. Although this isn’t the most common way to become pregnant, it is still possible.
Women can also get pregnant through artificial insemination and IVF, where doctors or fertility specialists place processed semen directly into the uterus. However, this isn’t a good option for women who don’t have a partner or who can’t have sexual intercourse because of conditions such as erectile dysfunction or vaginismus.
